Sessions

Sessions
Mum Days is currently made up of 2 different sessions:
- ‘Mum Days’ is our bigger group, open to all mums, pregnant and birthing people along with their babies aged 0-5 (mums are also very welcome to attend without children).
- Our new group ‘Bumps & Babes’ is aimed at families who are expecting or have a baby aged 0-9 months. All family members and children of any age can attend.
Our FAQ
‘Mum Days’ meets at the New Elgin Hall, every second Wednesday from 10-12 and ‘Bumps & Babes’ meets once a month on a Monday from 10.30-12 at Linkwood View, Thornhill Drive.
All of our event listings and full details can be found via our Eventbrite page.
During our ‘Mum Days’ sessions you will be welcomed into the hall, set up with a variety of play spaces. The space is secure and children are free to explore all areas as long as they are accompanied by an adult. We offer a Toddler Play Area with age appropriate toys, a Crafts Table, a Baby Play section, Tea & Coffee station, Freebies table and a Reading Circle.
We regularly welcome outside groups and agencies who have their own area set up to interact with and may also run a workshop or taster session.
Within our Bumps & Babes sessions, we have a smaller set up including a Baby Play Area, Tea & Coffee station, Freebies table and Information station as well as at least one local group/agency who may also set up an area/table or run a short taster session.
Both groups are very relaxed and there is no expectation to arrive at the very start or stay for the full session. Please feel free to come and go as you (and your little ones) please.
As this is a group run by mums for mums, we totally get it! Most days just getting out of the house is a mammoth task! So even if you only make it for the last 10 minutes, you will still be given a warm welcome a chance to chill and a cuppa!
Mum Days is completely free to attend. We want to remove any potential barriers to attending our group and we understand both the financial and mental pressures involved in paying for a group or a block of classes.
Our sessions do need to be booked in advance via Eventbrite, for health and safety reasons as it allows us to manage numbers and gather information in the event of an emergency.
NO! This is one of our main reasons for starting the group as we have all experienced the isolation and embarrassment of attending a baby or toddler group and being left to sit on our own. This is your chance to socialise and make connections just as much as your little ones!
Our lovely volunteers are there to welcome you and ensure that no one is left out or sitting on their own. We will do our best to introduce you to others with babies/toddlers of the same age in the hopes that you make some new friends and ‘find your village’.
We are an inclusive group and we make every effort to ensure that all persons who identifies as a mum, mother, mum-to-be, adoptive mum, grandmother, birthing parent, birthing person or any other appropriate term are welcomed into our group.
Our Mum Days session is only for those who identify as outlined above. This is because it is also a safe space. This means it is a space where attendees feel physically and emotionally secure, free to openly express themselves in a confidential environment, without fear of judgment or intimidation and are comfortable sharing their deepest concerns and asking sensitive questions.
We also understand the importance of male or male identifying parental figures involvement within family groups/activities and as such, have opened our Bumps & Babes group to all. This also allows any birth partners, supportive friends, family members, older children or relatives to attend and access the information and support offered within the sessions.
We run regular events and family fun days, all of which aim to involve different family members in the group. Please refer to each individual event listing for details.
